Many Australians think like this:
If someone says to me “Do you want this something?”
If I don’t want the thing, I can say “no”
I can say what I think, feel or want
"Host: 'Would you like some water?' Guest: 'No thanks, I'm fine.' Host might then get some water for themselves but not the guest."
"Host: 'Can I get you something else to eat?' Guest: 'No thank you, I'm absolutely full.'"
