Because this is a high level value, it influences attitudes, norms and speech acts which are related to it, but it is also modified by broad and specific contexts. For example, parents speaking to children often say 'you have to do it because I say it', but at the same time, it is a value which they expect their children to acquire, evidenced by the discouraging of children being 'bossy'.
