Someone (e.g. Simon) thinks something like this:

I was with someone (e.g. Travis) some time before now. When I was with Travis, I felt something good. I cannot be with Travis now.

Because of this, Simon feels something bad.

"Andy's Mum died three years ago, the whole family always misses her so much at Christmas."

"When Rachel was studying overseas for a year she really missed her friends at home. But most of all, she missed her dogs."

"Wade always misses his children when he has to travel for work. Thankfully he's usually back by the weekend so he can see them."
