Someone (e.g. Liam) was shy.

Liam feels something bad, like someone can feel when they think like this:

“I don’t know some people. These people are thinking something about me now. I don’t want this.”

"Sometimes people are just naturally shy. They will talk when they feel comfortable enough."

"Harry was a shy kid growing up, but as a teenager he became interested in robotics and then always had something to talk about."
