belonging

value: many people in Australia think it is good if people can think like this (see more)

Many people in Australia think like this:

When someone is in a place with many other people, it is good if this person can think like this: I feel something good when I am in this place. I feel something good when I am with these people. Nothing bad can happen to me here. The people in this place are people like me. These people think like me. These people feel something good towards me. All these people here are like part of one thing.

Note

Feeling like you belong in a place or with a group of people is highly valued in Australia. Also referred to as a 'sense of belonging'.

"It's really good to find a group of people that make you feel like you belong, despite, or even because of, all your quirks."

"I've never felt like I belong so much as I did at the first cosplay convention I went to."
